Our Services
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a framework for understanding behavior and learning through the environment. The goal of ABA therapy is to design and implement individualized teaching programs and behavioral interventions to teach clients new skills and decrease behaviors that are disruptive to their ability to acquire new skills, engage in interpersonal interactions, maintain safety, function independently, or otherwise participate meaningfully in their environment. ABA is grounded in the principles of behavior and is backed by decades of research.
At A New Leaf ABA, we believe in providing individualized services that are tailored to the unique needs of each child and family. Our approach is designed to produce lasting change that is meaningful to your child and your family.
Free Consultation
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will meet with both you and your child to discuss your family’s needs, share information about our services, and answer any questions you may have.
Family Support and Coaching
Having a child with special needs comes with a unique set of challenges. We understand that no one knows your child better than you do. Our goal is to empower you as your child’s advocate by helping you access the support, education, training, and resources your family needs.
Family support and coaching services include talking through challenging behaviors, brainstorming solutions, training primary and secondary caregivers on the implementation of ABA strategies, prioritizing areas of need, and more.
Assessments
Skill assessments measure skills across a vast range of domains, including communication, social, play, self-care, community, and more. The results of your child’s skill assessment will identify their unique strengths and areas for opportunity to target during ABA therapy.
Additionally, we offer a range of assessments to identify the purpose challenging behavior may be serving for your child. We can then work towards decreasing the challenging behavior by replacing it with appropriate alternatives that will allow your child to meet their needs and connect with others.
Community Support
Community outings are an ordinary part of family life, but families with children with special needs may experience difficulties with managing challenging behavior and encouraging their children to engage in peer interactions with unfamiliar children, such as at the park or the library. It is not uncommon for children with special needs to lack safety awareness or experience sensory overstimulation, which can turn routine errands, such as going to the grocery store, into a safety concern.
We can assist you with navigating these challenges in the community. Additionally, community outings provide strong opportunities for your child to practice skills they are working on at home in the community.
Home Services
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work with you to develop an Initial Treatment Plan for your child. The Initial Treatment Plan will include goals for teaching your child new skills, decreasing challenging behaviors, and coaching guidelines so that your entire family can assist your child with their journey.
A Behavior Therapist (BT) will work directly with your child to guide them towards achieving their goals under the supervision of the BCBA.
We work with our families to develop a manageable ABA therapy schedule for your child and family.
Coordination of Care
Coordination of care involves the collaboration of various healthcare providers, specialists, therapists, educators, and community resources to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to treatment. It ensures that all providers responsible for your child’s care are working together towards common goals, sharing information effectively, and overlapping their approaches and treatments across environments so that your child continues to benefit from each service outside of its original setting.
